The Christmas Production (Treasure Island) seems a long time ago but I am pleased to say that we are now able to offer a CD of all the photographs taken during the afternoon performance. As well as photographs taken during the performance, there are group photos of the main actors and the stage crew.
If you would like to buy one of these CDs, download the order form here, and send it in to Mr Senior or Mrs Carter.
The first two performances of Treasure Island took place yesterday to an audience of the rest of the school in the afternoon, and to an audience of paying guests in the evening.
The final two performances will take place tonight and tomorrow night. Well done to everyone who has taken part in the Christmas production this year.
Final rehearsals for ‘Treasure Island’ took place this morning. Our dress rehearsal (a performance to the rest of the school, and some additional guests) takes place on Monday afternoon with further performances at 7:00 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets are available from the school office.
As term draws to an end, we said a big ‘thank you’ to all the people who have given up their time to join us in school throughout the year to read with children, join us on school trips, or do any number of other jobs. While our helpers were served refreshments by our young governors, the summer choir provided entertainment, followed by Year Six with their final performance of ‘Believe’.
The choir performed Ebenezer for the final time this evening, concluding the hard work they have done this term. We will be bringing you photos of this performance as soon as possible. A DVD will be avaliable next year.
Yesterday saw the first two performaces of ‘Ebenezer’. In the afternoon, our actors and singers performed to the rest of the school, Years 1 and 2 of the infant school, and a selection of invited guests. It was a hard performance – due to the snow, we’d lost some rehearsals at the Jubilee Hall, and it was the first time we’d managed to get all the way through the play with costumes and props in the venue. The cast and choir performed admirably.
The later performance was better still, as all participants settled into their roles. Tonight is our final performance. We are expecting an audience of about two hundred and fifty people, so we’re saving our best ’til last!
DVDs of Ebenezer will be avaliable in the new year. We hope to bring you a selection of Mrs Cooper’s photographs tomorrow.
It was the evening of our annual Christmas Fayre today. As usual, members of FOBs had been in school throughout the week leading up to this evening, making preparations for a great event
Hot drinks and cakes were on sale in the hall, a place for visitors to sit and talk, and listen to a performance from the school choir as well as buying raffle tickets. Outside, burgers, hot dogs and potatoes were avaliable from the barbeque. Throughout the classrooms, visitors could purchase Christmas presents from a variety of stalls, and take part in a range of games and activities.
A big thank you to everyone in FOBs who worked so hard to organise this event, and to all those who came to take part.
After last week’s cancellation due to the snow, the choir made their first performance of the season this evening at the Bishop’s Waltham Street Fayre. The choir have been working hard rehearsing these songs over the last few weeks, in addition to their preparations for the Christmas production. Their hard work paid off, and they delivered five fantastic performances. We now look forward to the School Fayre tomorrow night, Ridgemede Rest Home on Monday, three performances of Ebenezer next week, and our end of term carol service. And then, a well-earned rest!
