Thursday 22nd July – Governor News:

Filed under: Whole School @ 10:07 am

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody that has made it possible for the school to continue to function so well during this difficult year and wish everyone a very happy, sunny summer holiday. We would also like to wish all the Year 6s good luck as they move up to secondary school.

The governing body has said goodbye to two governors at the end of this term; Mike Greenwood, who has been a parent governor for several years, and Helen Hills, our Local Authority governor. Helen has been a governor at BWJS for an incredible 40 years, during that time she has worked with 5 headteachers and seen the school grow and develop into what it is today. We would like to thank them both for their time and commitment to the school.

Helen Hills (Thank you)

Finally, a massive thank you to Mr Campbell and his senior team, all the teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, caretaker, site staff, lunchtime supervisors, kitchen staff, and especially to you, the parents and carers, who have been just amazing with your support and all the children for being brilliant.

To the teachers:

On behalf of the school governors, I would like to thank you all for your hard work and dedication over the last year. It has been such a difficult year, not only contending with Covid but the building work as well. The overwhelmingly positive responses seen in the parents’ survey are a testament to everything that you do for the pupils, parents and whole school community.

Thank you also for completing the staff survey, it provides us with really valuable information on your views of working at BWJS. When the governors meet in September, we will discuss the results of the survey, particularly your suggestions and ideas for school improvement.

I hope you all have a very happy summer holidays, you totally deserve it!

Louise Neale

(Chair of Governors)
