BWJS SWIM TEAM STORM TO VICTORY

Yesterday I had the privilege of going to watch the final swimming gala of the year. The whole of the BWJS swimming team (Y3-6) travelled to the imposing St Swithen’s school in Winchester to compete in what has been dubbed ‘the most competitive gala on the school calendar.’

The atmosphere was positively electric and as our school team appeared on pool-side in their school swim kit – they honestly looked like a professional outfit.

The quality of swimming was above and beyond what you would normally associate with Primary School swimming and BWJS dominated most of the races.

As the final results were announced, the margin of victory was incredible….a whopping 130 points.

Every individual contributed to the teams success and they were all wonderful ambassadors for the school.

Mrs Cooper truly is an inspirational and talented swimming coach and the dedication she gives to training the pupils was evident for all to see!

Thank you also to the dozens of parents that travelled along to support the team and cheer on the races. It was very much appreciated.

I’m hooked now and will definitely be in the viewers gallery again during the next competition.

Well done BWJS swimming team. I’m super proud of you all.

Mr Campbell
