Monday 5th November – NSPCC assembly

Filed under: Whole School @ 9:20 am

Today we were visited by Mandy from the NSPCC, who talked to the whole school in assembly. She introduced the children to ‘Buddy’ who is a mascot in the shape of a speech bubble to remind us of a very important message. As part of the ‘Speak Out, Stay Safe’ campaign, the assembly focussed on reminding the children about people in their lives who they can talk to if they have any worries. It also explained the different types of abuse that can be suffered by children and where people in these situations can turn to get help. The children learnt about the Child Line phone number (0800 1111) and new website ( as places to seek help.

Next week, the NSPCC will be returning to run workshops for years 5 and 6 and in the Spring term we will be doing some fundraising to support the charity and their amazing work.
