Thursday 3rd May 2018 – Year 3 trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace

Today, Year 3 visited Fishbourne Roman Palace as part of their new History topic about the Romans. The children took part in lots of different activities during the day including working as a salve in a Roman kitchen, playing authentic Roman games for children, writing their names on a wax tablet and with ink and using their archaeology skills to investigate different Roman artifacts. They were also able to walk around the remains of the Palace and look at the incredible mosaics that had survived. We enjoyed a lovely picnic in the sunshine too! We were so impressed with the questions the children were asking and how well they listened and interacted with all the activities – we are sure they are going to be able to use their new knowledge in their upcoming History lessons! A fab trip Year 3 – well done and thank you!
