Friday 26th June 2015 – French at BWJS:

Filed under: Whole School @ 2:57 pm

Our first official Year of French at BWJS has gone really well. The children have thrown themselves into learning a language with enthusiasm and interest. They have learnt lots of useful vocabulary and phrases, participated in singing French songs and even had a go at translating simple French books.

Year 6 has been lucky enough to have had the expertise of Swanmore Year 9 pupils, who have been coming in regularly over the course of the summer term. We hope to increase and continue our links with Swanmore College to develop our learning further.
As a school we have begun building links with the Bishop’s Waltham Twinning Association. Mrs Dodd from the association delivered an assembly to the whole school and many of our pupils are now keen to learn more about our twin town of St Bonnet le Château and future visits there.

On the whole ‘Les enfants ont appris beaucoup de français cette année’ and we are all looking forward to continuing our linguistic skills next academic year.
