Tuesday 23rd October – Egg experiment!

Over the past few weeks, Maple class have been learning about balanced diets and teeth and today, they set up an experiment to help them investigate what happens to the enamel on a tooth when it is exposed to certain types of drink.  We used a hard boiled egg to represent the tooth because the shell is very similar to the enmael found on the outside of our teeth.  Using 5 different types of drink – milk, freshly sqeezed juice, coffee, a fizzy energy drink and water, we dropped one egg into each of the liquids at the same time.  We will now leave them for 48 hours and check them on Thursday to see what changes may have occurred …
