Wednesday 7th March 2012 – Year Five Rainforest Work
Year Five are currently learning about the Rainforest. This week, we looked at the lives of the Yanomami tribe who live in the Amazon on the borders of Brazil and Venezuala. The Yanomami live in Yanos, wooden structures that can house up to 400 people. We made our own yanos in groups out of art straws and sugar paper – not an easy task. The Yanomami, of course, create theirs using handtools – we can only imagine how difficult that would be!
