Wednesday 1st February – Food tasting from around the world

As part of their Geography topic, Year 4 have been looking at the link Bishop’s Waltham has to other countries and continents around the world, via family holidays, where their relatives live and today, the focus was food.

The children had a selection of food on a platter that came from a vareity of countries and continents which they had to look at, smell and eventually taste! There was a mixture of savoury and sweet food including bananas from Colombia, kiwi fruit from New Zealand, pizza from Italy and mango chutney and puppadoms from India.  Some children had never tasted some of the food on offer today and they really enjoyed it!

This evening, the children are going to try and find out which continents and countries the ingredients of their dinner comes from ….
