Thursday 10th November 2011 – Cross Country Competition

Filed under: Cross Country,PE,Whole School @ 12:06 pm

On Tuesday 8th November, Mr Campbell and Miss Pearmain took 16 children from Years 4, 5 and 6 to compete in the annual Swanmore Cross Country Race, which is held at Swanmore Primary School.

This was the first race of the season and the children were quite nervous!  After walking the course to get a feel for it, the girls’ race was started first.  They did exceptionally well and we managed four positions in the first 11 children.

The boys’ race was next – again, they all ran very well even though the weather was cold and damp.

Once the races had finished, the children went into the school hall to have some refreshments and await the results!  Individual certificates were given to Abby (Y6) who came 3rd and Natasha (Y6) who came 4th.  Overall,  BWJS Girls’ Team came 1st!  What a brilliant achievement! The girls’ were presented with a trophy which we will display proudly in our trophy cabinet.

The boys’ team came a very respectable 3rd place and each boy should feel very proud of what they achieved.

Well done to all of the children who took part – it was a brilliant afternoon of running!

(Well done to Abby, Natasha, Isabel, Aimee, Bea, Lydia, Zoe, Leah, Jamie, Jake, Matthew, Luke, Zac, Jamie A-S, Jacob, MatthewW)
