Tuesday 8th November 2011 – Important note to Parents / Carers

Filed under: Whole School @ 1:00 pm

Dear Parents/Carers,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to inform you about a serious accident that took place over the weekend involving one of the school’s staff members.

Mr Senior, and his 3 year old son James, were unfortunately hit by a rogue firework whilst enjoying a family display at BishopstokeEvangelicalChurch.  An ambulance was called to the scene and both Mr Senior and his son were taken to hospital.  The prognosis for James, who suffered superficial burns and bruising, is good.  Mr Senior, however, is awaiting surgery on his eye as his iris; retina and lens were damaged by the accident.

We have spoken to Mr Senior, and true to character, he is being exceptionally positive about the whole situation.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jon, James, and the rest of his family and we wish them both a speedy recovery.

In the interim, during Mr Senior’s absence from school, we will endeavour to ensure a level of consistency for the pupils in his class.  Mrs Brown, a regular supply at Bishop’s Waltham Junior, has kindly agreed to teach in Tamarind.

Yours truly,

Mr D Campbell

  1. How awful. All best wishes being sent to Mr Senior and all his family during a very traumatic time. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery. From Cameron and his Mum xx

  2. I hope both Jon and his little boy make a speedy recovery, our thoughts are with him and his family. I’m sure in true bishops waltham junior school style the show will go on and the pupils won’t suffer at all!
