Wednesday 16th March 2011 – Swanmore and District Netball and Football Rally

On Friday 11th March, the year 5 and 6 netball teams took part in the annual Swanmore and District Netball rally.  Having already played some friendly matches against Droxford and Swanmore, we were much better equipped for playing against the other teams within the pyramid.

The girls played very well and were much better at finding spaces and passing accurately and quickly and as a result, we scored some goals in most matches.  However, Droxford and Curdridge proved to be good competition and they both made it through to the final.  In the end, Droxford won 3-0 and took first place with Curdridge in second.

Well done to the girls who played – you did so well and as always, were a credit to the school.

Tuesday 15th March saw the Swanmore and District Football rally taking place at BWJS.  The weather was perfect for the afternoon and the atmosphere was great too.  The year 6 team played so well (as always) and scored some great goals against each team they played.  Great saves came from Luke and Archie and Finn showed some good skill with the ball.  The boys came 3rd overall and missed out on second place by 1 point, but this didn’t seem to matter because we had all had a great afternoon of football.

This was the last time the Year 6 football team would play as a team for BWJS so I would just like to say well done and thank you for being a great team – I have enjoyed watching all of your matches!

  1. Well done guys, our teams were very happy to win the football! Do you have a girls football team? We have 2 and are trying to find teams to play against. We can come to you if you like!

    Thanks

  2. I thought that we did really well and should have won the football but we were second by a goal difference of one! so close!
