Wednesday 10th November 2010 – Year Six Football Team Victory

Filed under: Football @ 7:55 am

On Thursday 4th November, the year 6 football team played in the second round of the Hampshire Cup against Wootey Junior School. The away team had to travel all the way from Alton so we decided to start the match at the earlier time of 2pm – this also meant we would be finished before it started getting dark!

Both teams were impressive from the start and had many shots on goal, however both goal keepers kept the balls from finding the back of the net.  On the stroke of half time, Wootey Junior School scored which meant BWJS had to play even harder to try and win.

Near the end of the second half, BWJS scored and it looked at though we would have to play extra time because of the 1-1 score.  Amazingly, George headed the ball into the back of the next from a brilliant corner with only 30 seconds left to play and the match ended with the score of 2-1 to BWJS.

Well done to all of the boys who played – we have now progressed into round 3 of the Cup.  Thank you to Mr Campbell for supervising the children and to the parents who came along to support.
